In our society the body has become a merchandise. This induces a distortion of the symbolic value of its parts, inserting them into a system of commodities in which anatomical units have a monetary value.
In another instance the body’s double, the prosthesis, replace or modify it subverting the entropy of the biblical text. “From dust you came, and to dust you returned” (Genesis 3:19).
Prostheses do not decompose.
